Biography

About Tage Andersen

Tage Andersen was born on 29 March 1947 in Heltborg in Thy, in the northwestern part of Jutland. He is a Danish artist renowned for his imaginative, naturalistic floral arrangements, and interior and exterior designs. Originally trained as a confectioner, he took over the local flower shop in his hometown and ventured into floristry at the age of 20 years old.

In 1987 he established The House of Tage Andersen in Copenhagen, working across artistic disciplines including floral artistry, scenography, horticulture, interior and exterior design.

He has published several art monographs and received recognition from the Danish Art Foundation and the Nordic Horticulture Award. His work has been exhibited internationally, and The National Gallery of Denmark honored his work with a solo exhibition in 2002.

From 2009 to 2019, Tage Andersen transformed the historic estate Gunillaberg in Sweden into his creative sanctuary, welcoming visitors to experience his vision of merging the natural world with his artistic expression.

Today, the atelier, gallery and boutique at Ny Adelgade 12 in Copenhagen serves as a landmark of his evolving artistic endeavors.

"I have been free to pursue what I love without being confined by society's expectations or tastes - allowing me to live authentically and bring my creative vision to life."
